Phillips Outdoor Services is now hiring a Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader to join our growing team in Onalaska, WI.
We’re seeking an experienced lawn & landscape maintenance professional with proven leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional property care. You want to lead meaningful projects, develop your team, and build something exceptional with your expertise.
As our Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader, you’ll lead our Landscape Maintenance Apprentice(s) in delivering award-winning landscape maintenance, lawn mowing, lawn care, irrigation maintenance, and seasonal cleanups across the Onalaska area. This position offers the perfect blend of hands-on expertise and leadership development—you’ll have the autonomy to implement your expertise into our systematic approaches while being supported by a company that values continuous improvement and innovation to those systems.
This role offers up to $35/hour and up to a $2,500 sign-on bonus, profit sharing, comprehensive benefits, and clear advancement opportunities for motivated leaders ready to elevate their career in outdoor services.
Purpose
Lead your Landscape Maintenance Crew by managing daily operations, developing team skills, and ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality landscape maintenance, lawn mowing, lawn care, irrigation, and seasonal cleanup services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage landscape maintenance crews across residential and commercial properties
- Plan and execute daily service routes for maximum efficiency and quality
- Train, mentor, and develop crew members on proper techniques and safety protocols
- Operate jobsite tools and machinery safely and proficiently
- Maintain clean and organized jobsites based on company standards
- Ensure quality control on all maintenance services and address customer concerns
- Participate in leadership development and performance reviews with management
- Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and project managers
- Manage equipment maintenance and coordinate with other divisions as needed
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of professional landscape maintenance, lawn care, or grounds management experience
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing maintenance crews
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting 50+ lbs, walking extended distances, and standing for extended periods
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to protocols, especially around equipment operation
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Team-oriented with proven ability to lead and develop others
- Valid driver’s license required

Reporting Structure
Reports to Landscape Operations Manager with regular check-ins
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Pay:up to $35/hour based on experience
